Ancient Polynesian voyagers navigated the oceans with what they called, the “talk of the sea”. They believed that if you listened and watched, the sea will guide you.
In 1997, I shoved off on a solo rowing voyage around the world, and as a Hawaiian, I took that “talk of the sea” with me. This is the story of that voyage.
